WA Aviation conference was once again a great success, thanks for everyone that helped out and especially Andy H for bringing his Kitfox to show and Norm for towing the trailer! We couldn’t get it done without you guys! It’s not too early to start thinking about next year and all the things we could do to get more interest in the chapter.
Young Eagles June 24th. Tom & Marv will be doing the prep for the day. Dave will be running the event on the day of while the flying is going on.
Randy is looking for a hangar at Thun for a buyer of one of his RV’s. If you know of any hangar space, or shared room that would fit a RV let him know.
Memorial Walk. The base material has been prepped and Dave has the rest of the materials ready. This spring, when we get a dry weekend we will need to come out and help finish off the project.
The chapter is considering buying a borescope that was shown at the NW Aviation Conference. The cost is about $500 and would be in the tool crib for chapter members to check out and use.
Presentations, we have April & June lined up. We need additional presenters, if you have any ideas please email Tom Brown.
There is some interest in getting more fly outs going. If you have ideas about organizing it please let Ken know.
Thomas showed off his Stratux ADSB-IN receiver. It is mounted in a nice 3D printed case. It’s based upon a Raspberry PI computer and two small radios. It supports both 1090ES and 978MHZ. It also has a GPS chip. This will give you Traffic and Weather broadcast via WIFI to your tablet. This is a great DIY project where you can build a cheaper ADSB-IN receiver to use in your airplane. It’s portable and can move from plane to plane. Cost for parts is about $200
