This week we will finish up lingering details, but all the flight controls, wings, empennage are structurally finished! It feels like a major milestone, after 6.5 months of building. The tailcone is prepped and primed and will be started next. I am enjoying the overall building process, much more than I had initially anticipated. My building partner, Rich Zurinsky, has built at least 7 different RVs, and seems very impressed with the overall quality and improvements of the RV-14a kit. Only two prototypes are flying to date, both owned by Van’s. My kit number is 209 out of the approximate 250 kits underway, so we are well behind the “Early adopters”.
