Milestone in Construction. We are done with all the structural building. The standing joke is “We are 90% done, with 90% to go” because now comes all the tedious, detailed internal work, electrical systems, avionics etc. We have 20 months of building, over 2000 hours of shop time and 20,000 rivets driven. It is becoming a beautiful custom sport touring, aerobatic airplane.
What is next. The plan is to get all the components ready for paint. There are many reasons to paint the aircraft before you do final assembly. See the paint scheme imbedded in the photos.
On the Horizon. I want to take a break and go home to Kona for the winter, and chill out. This has been an enormous undertaking in time, and energy. Next spring we will do final assembly and all the testing required prior to getting certification from the FAA. Then flight testing.
Thanks for your interest! I suppose if I was smart, I would have an ongoing blog online, but I simply did not have the time to both build the airplane and blog about building the airplane.
Thank you to Krista for all her daily support!
All the Best,
Greg Novotny
