Memorial Wing - Dave Fritzsche

We should be finalizing our plans for the chapter memorial wing.  Here is the information I had as of last summer.  Tom Worth will also need to be included.

EAA Chapter 326 Memorial Wing
Here is a breakdown of the projected costs for our memorial wing.  The total cost will depend upon whether we engrave bricks for the members we can identify who have died, 8 shown below, or if we also include the 28 founding members names with no dates for them.  The eight will include birth and death dates and the N number of one aircraft if they owned one.  Either way, the memorial will consist of 96 bricks with room for expansion.  As members pass, their names will be engraved on one of the plain bricks.  The bricks will be engraved by the same company that engraved the bricks for Puyallup's Pioneer Park.  It was my understanding that the memorial is to be funded entirely by the chapter with no contributions requested from the departed member's families.

Several decisions need to be made before the memorial becomes a reality.
1.  How are we going to fund the memorial?
2.  When will the memorial be built?
3.  Who is going to help build the memorial?
4.  Who is going to haul the materials? (bricks will need to go to engraver and then to Thun.

engraving for 28 bricks                                  $476

Each wing measures 32" x 48" or 16" x 96" depending on direction bricks are laid.  I am tending to favor the 16" by 96" direction.
We will need to rent some type of tamping tool to pack the rock and brick.

There is a informative video on creating a patio which pertains to our memorial in structure.  It is in two parts at the following URLs:
