Tom called the meeting to order.
Bruce and Diane brought treats & Smitty and Tony brought cake for the chapter anniversary.

Fly out. Tom is interested in getting a group together to start flying to activity and events in the area. Look for more info soon.

Memorial walk. It’s time to get building on the memorial walk. We agreed to build it centrally at the airport. Who, When, How, it’s time to get the plan together. $600 to get going with the members that have passed. $500 additionally to add all of the charter chapter members. Look for more info soon in terms of a date to get started.

Teen flight is working on the wings for the 3rd RV12 they are building. Panel wiring is next on the fuselage. They have had their first kid start their flight training flying with Terry Obrien. We are always looking for more help with mentors if you would like to come help teach kids to build airplanes!

PSSA - Puget Sound Soaring is active at Bergseth field. Scott is a glider CFI and can help you get started.

Tools, remember that we have a complete tool crib for use by chapter members. We have all sorts of things that you might need or only need for one specific job. Check the website for a large list, or give Joe Andre a call and see what he has. He’s based in Hangar 11 behind NW Propeller.

Project updates

Randy - is finishing up his RV7. Working on some final engine details and is looking for a MA4-5 Carb to get it going. Hasn’t started much on the Murphy Moose until the RV7 is complete, but it’s next on the project list.

Dave Atkins - working on engine parts to build a custom Mazda Rotary

Dave Thomas - Viperjet, working on the final FAA paperwork and then will be doing the final inspection next month.

Treasurer report. $4591.30 in checking. $393.51 in savings. Dues are due for 2016. Hats, Norm can get some more made from NW engraving if there is interest. 

3/8/16 is International Women’s Day! YEA!

Tonight’s program is by Bret on how Birds Fly! For those of you that missed this presentation, you really missed out. What a fascinating topic and great presentation on the research that goes into Bird flight and how it might be applied to airplanes in the future.
